I wrote the first paragraph while waiting for our trainer: I'm in Integrated Physical Assessment Training right now. It's been more than a year since I last did some Nursing stuff. And surprisingly, my memory is still sharp and intact. I remember 90% of the topics that our trainer is talking about. The feeling was a bit weird though. I even cringe at times. It's not that I don't like nursing. In fact, I came to realize that I love it. The nurse inside me woke up again (lol). Occassionally, I tried to eavesdrop on my seatmates when they talk about the different opportunities for us nurses. And I think I can safely say that it sucks to be a nurse here in the Philippines. The tuision fee in Nursing Colleges are so steep. After graduation, you have to pass the board exam. And nope, you can't celebrate yet. You still have to go to trainings and seminars so that the hospitals will take notice of your resumé. You also have to wait patiently until those freaking hospitals put a stop to freeze hiring. And if you're really unlucky, you may have to do some volunteer work. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against volunteering. I just can't do it because of obvious financial matters. lol.
On a lighter note, I just want to say that I'm very thankful I have an oDesk job right now. My buyer is so appreciative, he always gives me good feedback about my work. The job is so easy and I'm not going to deny that the pay is a bit low. Nevertheless, it's just enough for me to buy myself a well-deserved laptop. Yay!
Before I say goodbye, here's a photo of Conti's Strawberry Cheesecake that my parents got for Manang's birthday,
Just trying to make your mouth water. ;)
